Connect an exchange (read-only)
Plug Binance or Bybit into Siddani with read-only keys in under five minutes — the pipeline backfills 90 days of history automatically and keeps it current every five.
2026-10-01 · SIDDANI DOCS
Siddani connects to Binance and Bybit with read-only API keys — the platform can read your fills and balances and can never trade, move funds, or withdraw. That constraint is the product: every number in your workspace descends from fills the venue itself wrote, which is why nothing here is editable by hand.
Step 1 — create the key on the venue
On Binance: API Management → Create API → enable Enable Reading only. On Bybit: API Management → Create New Key → pick Read. No trade permission, no withdrawal permission — if the venue asks for them during key creation, it is the wrong flow. Write the permissions down; the platform will show you the same summary after connect.
Step 2 — whitelist the server IP
Both venues let you bind a key to an IP. Add your Siddani server's outbound IP; a bound key is useless to anyone who steals it. The platform humanizes the venue errors if the IP is wrong (Binance -2015, Bybit 10003-style messages come back in plain language).
Step 3 — connect and pick your markets
Workspace → Exchange accounts → Connect. Paste the key and secret, choose LIVE or DEMO, pick your markets. The key is validated against the venue before anything is stored — a wrong key never becomes a connection.
Step 4 — the first sync
The pipeline backfills roughly ninety days of fills and income in 7-day chunks, then switches to a 5-minute incremental tail. The connections panel shows per-resource progress: items synced, current status, humanized errors. When the sources exist, the workspace wiring flips from sample data to your real data automatically.
Reading the sync panel
Each connection shows its resources — fills and income per market — with status, items synced and last run. QUEUED means the scheduled cycle has not reached it yet; a 5-minute cadence is normal. Manual "Sync now" gives the same pipeline on demand.
Demo keys
Bybit demo-trading keys work too (choose DEMO in the connect modal). Demo accounts are clearly badged everywhere and can be removed without touching real data — useful for learning the platform before connecting live.
Keys are sealed in the vault with envelope encryption — the master key lives outside the database. Siddani never holds withdrawal permissions; there is nothing to steal that can move money.
